Margaret M. O'Sullivan
Specializing in Pandemic Disaster Recovery Planning, Ms. O'Sullivan is a senior executive with expertise in advanced level management of all aspects of disaster preparedness, response and recovery programming at regional, national and international levels, she possesses extensive experience in stabilizing change-driven operating environments and processes with demonstrated proficiency in:
- Hazards Disaster Preparedness and Response Planning and Business Continuity & Risk Management
- Catastrophic Impact Readiness (e.g. Pandemic, CBRNE, etc.),
- Disaster Communications Training
- Local, State and Federal Emergency Management Agency Interfaces
- Workplace Disaster Preparedness Programs and Pandemic Preparedness Planning
- Enterprise Risk Management, Strategic Planning and Outcome Measurement
In addition to her work with Core Risks Ltd. (CRL), Ms. O'Sullivan currently serves as The William J. Clinton Foundation's Philadelphia City Director of the Clinton Climate Initiative (CCI), a global effort designed to develop large scale and exportable clean energy and greenhouse gas reduction approaches in forty of the world's largest cities through practical, market based solutions.
Prior to joining CRL and CCI, Ms. O'Sullivan served with the American Red Cross of Southeastern Pennsylvania for 14 years in various capacities, including Interim Chief Executive Officer, Chief Program Officer, and Executive Catastrophic Impact/Preparedness Consultant.
During her Red Cross tenure, she participated in major disaster response, recovery and capacity building initiatives for the Red Cross/Red Crescent in Armenia, Romania, Germany, and Bosnia-Herzegovina. Ms. O'Sullivan also served in leadership positions in many of the major domestic disaster responses of the past decade, including Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Charley, Ivan, Floyd, and Tropical Storm Allison.
In 2001, Ms. O'Sullivan was called upon to serve as a loaned executive to the American Red Cross of Greater New York to support the disaster relief operations during the 9/11 World Trade Center response in Lower Manhattan. She also played a major leadership role in the local Chapter's response to the 9/11 events and the public health crisis created by the anthrax scares. Ms. O'Sullivan led the 2005-08 strategic planning process and authored a Catastrophic Impact Plan for the Red Cross relative to Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Ms. O'Sullivan holds a Bachelor's Degree from Boston University and has completed the Wharton School of Education's Leading Organizational Change Program. She holds certifications in the range of Red Cross Public Health and Disaster Services programs and received the highest level of Red Cross readiness training at the Clara Barton Center for Domestic Preparedness in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
Ms. O'Sullivan continues to be a member of the American National Red Cross' Disaster Services Human Resources system.
